Mark 8:22-25 - CHRIST SPITS IN BLIND MAN'S EYES
22They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. 23He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?”24He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”25Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. 26Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t even go into the village.”

Natural Vision, Spiritual Vision, & Vision For One's Life
In the passage above a man's physical vision is restored. There are principles in this verse for the miracles of God for physical healing however there are also principles for spiritual vision or vision for one's life. Jesus said in Matthew 15:14 "Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” and in Mark 4: 11 "He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables 12 so that,“ ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving," If God can open physical eyes, He can open spiritual eyes and eyes for the vision for one's life. When God does open our eyes and He gives us a vision we are instructed in Habakkuk 2:2 to write the vision down. Vision from God is important because we are told in Proverbs 29:18 that where there is no vision the people perish.

1. HEAVEN & HEALING CONTACTS: Jesus spit in the man’s eyes. DNA testing uses saliva to map one’s ancestry as well as show what diseases one is prone to. Since Jesus was born of a virgin, His Father’s DNA would have mapped Him in Heaven. Concerning the diseases He was prone to, it would have resulted in zero. When Jesus spit in the man’s eyes his eyes came into contact with Heaven & Healing. We get into contact with Heaven & Healing through prayer, the Word, worship, corporate fellowship, and the Spirit of God. Act’s 2:17 speaks of God’s Spirt being poured out on all flesh and causing people to see visions. Divine vision is result of coming in contact with the Spirit of God.
2. SPITTING IMAGE: The phrase “spitting image” is defined as an “exact double”. We are the spitting image of our Heavenly Father. Genesis 1:26-28 describes how we were created in God’s image and in His likeness. Jesus said in John 14:9 Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. We are called to be a spitting image of God, our Heavenly Father. It was not until Jesus spit that the man able to see an image. On our farm in Mozambique we have spitting cobras. The cobras raise up and spit in the eyes of its victims. Jesus tells His disciples in Matthew 10:16 to be wise as a serpent. We see Moses in Numbers 21:9 create a bronze snake and put it on a pole so that anyone who was bitten that looked at it would be healed. John 3:14 states Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up. Additionally, medically snake venom has been used to treat certain diseases. The medical sign with a snake on a pole is an Old Testament image of Christ on the Cross. When hospitals and doctors promote this sign, they are promoting the healing power of Christ on the cross, most without even knowing it. When Jesus spit His saliva or spiritual venom in the man's blind eyes they were healed.
3. LEADERSHIP POSITIONS FOR FAITH: Jesus led the blind man out of the village and then told him when he could see “don’t even go into the village.” Leadership knows how to position people in a faith environment to receive from God and keep them from going back into old situations that can hinder their faith.
